I came to know about Guruji the day I was going for a placement interview with a big shipping company. My mother had given me Guruji's photo as a blessing. Rather atypically, I readily accepted Guruji. I had not prepared for the interview and did not clear it. But my faith in Guruji was retained.
A year later, in 2019, I graduated from college. I had not got a job, but wanting to enter the defence services, began to sit for their exams and interviews. Even though I was well prepared, I could not get through. I knew deep in my heart that I was not cut out for a defence life. After my third and final attempt, I dropped the idea of joining the defence forces and set my eyes on the Merchant Navy.
Getting a job in the Merchant Navy is hard. I started working on myself to that end even as I surrendered to Guruji. Then, in March 2022, a Designated Person Ashore (DPA) from a shipping company called up. That was a surprise, since a DPA is a high-ranking official who has access to the top management within a company. He talked to my mother and asked me to send my CV to a few email ids of the company he represented, after which would come an online exam and an interview. My heart sank as I wasn't prepared for either.
Around this time, I had a prophetic dream. In it, I visited a nearby Shiva temple, donated five rupees, and received honey as
prasad. I thought of doing the same at a nearby temple. I took the ash that had fallen from the
dhoop as my prasad since there was no pandit around.
Both my exam and interview went well, as no technical questions were asked, and a month later, I was contacted by the company I had been interviewed with. I had the job. In July, I boarded my first ship from Istanbul, and sailed for nine months. All this was possible only because of Guruji. Getting a call from the DPA and landing a job is akin to being called by a CEO with a job offer. Who could do it except our beloved Guruji?
He knows what is best for us, and He will give it to us. All we need to do is have faith and be a good person.
