I had been trying to switch jobs for over eight months but had been rejected by many companies. One of the companies that I really wished to join had sent me a rejection email after two interview rounds. I was disappointed, then began applying elsewhere. Less than a fortnight later, I found myself telling a friend how earnestly I wished to be selected by that company. The morning after, I received an email from the desired-for company, extending an offer. I was surprised but, in my heart, I knew this was Guruji's blessing.
I talked to the company's HR and was told they had received budget approvals for the position. Within a week, I had received an offer letter with much higher compensation than I was expecting. It was Guruji's grace that turned a documented rejection into an offer letter. Guruji blesses us with more than we imagine, but He decides the timing.
A similar turnaround occurred when I applied for a visa to visit the US on official work in January of 2020. That month, 14 people from my organization had applied for the US visa and a dozen had been rejected. I wanted to go to the US and prayed to Guruji. Within two days, I got a slot for an interview at the US consulate—in itself a rarity since people usually don't get slots for months. After the meeting, the interviewer told me my visa was approved, but a day later, I received an email saying additional documents were needed for background verification. I shared those documents via email with the US embassy, but worried that my application would be rejected.
A few days later when I went to collect my passport, it did not have the H1B visa stamp. I was perplexed as the visa interviewer had told me that my visa was approved. I began chanting the
mantra jaap—upon which, I saw a receipt in the passport saying "additional documents needed". I re-submitted my passport and told the officials that additional documents had already been emailed.
With Guruji's blessings, I received my passport a week later with the H1B visa. I had applied for visa in the first week of January and was in the US on 31
st January—withing a month! And I returned just before the pandemic hit the world. Guruji guided me every step of the way.
Taking my maternal grandmother in His sharan
Since my grandfather passed away, my grandmother, whom I was very close to, had been keeping unwell. Despite her health, she was the most positive and radiant person I knew. Visiting Bade Mandir with her had been a highlight for me. In January of 2021, she had to be admitted to the hospital. She wanted to go to a government hospital, which was hard at that time as hospitals were overwhelmed with the pandemic. I constantly prayed to Guruji to do what was best for her.
Grandmother then got admitted to AIIMS and underwent two surgeries over two months, with her health see-sawing day to day. On 7
th March, with Guruji's blessing, we held Guruji's
satsang at our house. We put my grandmother on a video call and she had
darshan of Guruji's darbar. At the occasion, I repeated my heartfelt
ardas to Guruji to do what was best for grandmother.
A few days later, I had a vision of my grandmother's body wrapped in a white shroud. Guruji was standing next to her at Bade Mandir. I knew what the vision meant but did not share it with the family. On 18
th March, we received the news of my grandmother's demise. It tormented me (and still does), but the vision that Guruji showed me assured me that my grandmother is in His divine
sharan.
Shabads cement divine connection
I had heard many satsangs emphasizing the importance of
shabads in forming one's divine connection with Guruji. But I understood this point only during the lockdown. I had been merely hearing shabads earlier, but during the lockdown I started listening to them. Now I see the shabads as the divine guidance that my Master, Guruji Maharaj, gives to me, His student. On the morning of Diwali 2021, I was listening to the shabad "
Rakhi charna de kol." And in the evening, I had the good fortune to visit Bade Mandir for the first time on the occasion of Diwali. The moment I reached the Mandir, the same shabad began playing. I was overjoyed because Guruji knew exactly what was in my heart: To be at His Lotus Feet.
Thank you, Guruji, for your kindness and grace. Jai Guruji!
