Three years ago, in year 2017, we were hosting a
satsang. My
sewa was to create the playlist. A day before the satsang on October 27, Guruji appeared before my mind's eye as I as meditating early in the morning. I smiled, looked at Guruji's face and asked Him, "
Hanji, batao aapke liye is baar kaunse bhajan download karu?" He replied in a deep Punjabi accent, "
Nanhe kanha karlo."
It was not a dream and I was not sleeping; I was conscious. I opened my eyes and Googled that song title. I couldn't find anything specific, so I started searching for
bhajans related to Lord Krishna. I found
Achyutam Keshavam, and downloaded it.
As it happened, on the day of the satsang, some devotees from the Hare Krishna temple, wearing tulsi garlands, walked in. We had been doing satsangs for a year and this was the first time they had come in. Somewhat later I realized the aptness of Guruji's divine message to me. At that moment, I thought to myself that the only Krishna bhajan I had was Achyutam Keshavam, but as the
shabads played on I realized the playlist also had "
Tum hi mere Ram/ Tum hi mere Shyam".
It was such an amazing experience to get a message from Guruji to play Krishna bhajans. He knew Krishna devotees were going to attend the satsang. At the end of the satsang, the Hare Krishna temple devotees thanked us for a wonderful experience. As the bhajan has it, "
Karte ho tum Guruji / mera naam ho raha hai."
I went to bed that night happy that I had a conversation with Guruji, All this time I used to think, "How can people talk to Guruji like this? Is it just their imagination?" I learned that night that conversations do happen. I heard His voice and the Punjabi accent clearly. The satsang where we played "Nanhe kanha" will always be my favourite because it marks the first time I talked with Guruji and got a message from him.
