In the summer of 2013, I started experiencing acute pain in my hamstring. I regularly play cricket so I put it down to the sport. We live in Atlanta, and I consulted a suit of doctors, chiropractors, and orthopaedic specialists. No one was of any help. It was difficult for me to even stand for more than a few minutes. I used to sit to brush my teeth and to shave. Though I was on painkillers, the pain was unbearable. This went on for several months.
I had to go for an important business trip to Philippines and India towards the end of 2013. I used a wheelchair all the way from Atlanta to Philippines to India. When I arrived in Delhi, my in-laws took me to a super-speciality hospital. My in-laws are ardent devotees of Guruji, whom I had come to know of in 2010. At the hospital, an MRI showed a spinal tumour was pinching my sciatica nerve, leading to the agonizing pain. I was advised to go for emergency neurosurgery with doctors fearing any delay would rupture the nerve and cause me to be paralysed from the waist down.
I was admitted to the hospital on Monday evening, and the surgery was scheduled for the next morning. I was scared and dreaded finding out if the tumour was cancerous or not. I had wished to go to Bade Mandir to take Guruji's blessings before the surgery and was disappointed that now I couldn't. On Monday night, a doctor came in to get my vitals for the impending surgery. During routine questioning about my medication, he learnt that I was on aspirin. Since its blood-thinning effects would take two days to subside, the surgery was postponed, that too to Friday morning. I was overjoyed that Guruji had listened to my prayers. I could now go to Bade Mandir on the coming Thursday.
My father, who is a devotee of Shivji and Hanumanji, accompanied me along with my in-laws. I had blessed
darshan, with Guruji constantly reminding me that He was with me as I smelt His fragrance throughout. As I listened to the
shabads, I felt someone pinching my back. Every time I wanted to get up, a
sewadar would ask me to sit down, saying that was Guruji's
aagya. Then during
langar I saw a semblance of Shivji on my
roti prasad. I understood that Guruji was reassuring me about the surgery.
I was operated on Friday morning for a long time. The surgeon found that the tumour that the MRI showed on the nerve was present on the spine. That meant they could remove it easily. I understood now why I had felt that pinching sensation in my back at the Mandir. Guruji had helped me heal.
My wife and my daughters came from the US to take care of me, and I had a fast recovery. After a few days, the biopsy results came in and showed the tumour was not malignant!
I owe my life to Guruji. I have recovered fully and can perform all physical activities, including playing cricket, thanks to Guruji's blessings. Although I got connected to Guruji in year 2010, I am sure that Guruji has had me under His divine refuge since my previous lives. His
meher (grace) is never-ending and He fulfils every need of His devotees without their knowledge and at the right time. We don't know what we need; it is only He who knows what's best for us. Guruji, thank you for everything. Please keep us in your divine sharan always.
